I bought some books from America on coloured pencil techniques.

To say it’s changed my world would be an understatement! I never saw CP as a fine art medium until I saw the UK Coloured Pencil Society and the Coloured Pencil Society of America websites.  Just visit the links on this site - you’ll be amazed.

2008 was a great year for me with some of my work being published in coloured pencil books following winning the coveted title of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation Wildlife Artist of the Year. This competition was open for both amateur and professional artists from around the world so I am thrilled beyond belief!

Just a quick update to let you know what I’ve been up to!

Yes, this is the time of year when the cartoon commissions go crazy! I’ve just completed two very long caricatures: one for a works colleague and another for an ex-colleague.

Ian & Danni took 17 hours to draw and paint, and celebrates their great marriage in September. I was so busy that December was the earliest time I could get to work on it…!

The cartoon of Glynis Jarvis was then finished after Ian & Danni’s taking just over 21 hours - no rest for the wicked! This cartoon is a celebration of her 60th birthday showing her love of St. Ives, Charlie the cat and eating curry - especially when out with friends!
