Richard’s Cartoons & Caricatures range from £40-200 in either  pen & ink or digital painting medium - each one unique and an absolute one-off!

I set the price based upon the number of hours at the drawing board when completing the cartoon. On average, they take 5 to 20 hours to finish. You supply the photos of the person, animal - or whatever you want - with the completed cartoon questionnaire (on the link above), we discuss your requirements and then I finally work out the actual price - simple as that!

The cartoon is usually finished in about three to six weeks depending on what I have on at the time. If you have a special occasion with an important date, it’s worth booking the commission with me as soon as possible - it can get really busy. I will then agree a final date with you. If the completion date is within three weeks, the price will increase somewhat if I have too many commissions at the time but it’s best to speak with me as soon as possible. I will always endeavour to help if I can.

Anyway, the price for the cartoon will be agreed with you before commencing the drawing and all I ask is 25% deposit before I start.

Coloured Pencil artwork?

That’s a different matter. They are very time consuming so costs increase somewhat - the price is discussed when all photos have been received.

I have to work out the time it takes for completion and the costs are assessed from that.

On average, an original A4 portrait costs in the region of £200-400.

The end result, though, is a very personal gift and well worth waiting for - it’s a one-off!
