All finished cartoons are printed on high quality paper from a local printing company and framed in a snap frame ready for the recipient. The image is also scanned and copied on CD, uploaded to Drop Box or emailed to you, whichever you prefer! Additional copies of the cartoon can be printed for little cost, we can discuss that if required.
Once the details of the commission have been agreed the photos of the subject can be emailed to me at mail@ChumleysArt.com so that sketches can be made to work out the cost. It is helpful that I get as many photos as possible so that I can really get the caricature just right.
The photographs need to be of reasonable size and clear. Small 6x4 inch photo printed head shots are not suitable as I cannot make out the definition and nuances of the face. The general rule of thumb is: The better the photo - the better the caricature! I do not know the person so need as much info as possible. Also, I need the most recent photos you have as I can only draw what you give me. If you provide old photos, then the finished cartoon will reflect that.
I also need photos of the subjects body if that is required. Are they thin, medium, or large build?
The caricature emphasises the subjects facial identity. I can exaggerate this to varying degrees but only you know what the subject will be ok with. Can the person take the humorous attention in front of all their guests/family/work-mates when you give them the picture? I can tone it down if need be.
